Black Pine Cabin
In 2002, Roy and Suzanne McKinney with the
help of their youngest daughter Therese built this cozy two bedroom cabin
using timber cut from their own 13 acres in the heart of the Cumberland
Mountains.
You will feel right at home in the kitchen fully
equipped with microwave, dishwasher, appliances and cookware necessary to
feed your friends and family up to the
maximum capacity of six.
Most of the furniture in the cabin is
hand crafted by Roy and Suzanne from natural materials found right here on
the creek and surrounding forest. Some of
the furniture is for sale, allowing our patrons to take a small piece of
their mountain vacations home.
Just a few yards from a beautiful mountain stream at
the foot of a 300 acre mountain, this cabin has all of the comforts of home.
The living room and kitchen 12x40, divided only by a
snack bar, and offers just the right atmosphere for a great mountain
retreat. The large stone fireplace, built from rocks taken right from the
creek, has a warm gas insert for convenience (and safety). The vaulted
ceiling with large exposed pine logs and rustic decor leaves you feeling
like your still outdoors.
Roy and Suzanne's furniture and artwork can be found
in homes all over the country and has been sold and displayed in various art
shows and galleries throughout the mid-western and southern regions.
After a fun day of hiking and exploring you can
relax on the fully screened in 10x20 front porch with connecting deck,
overlooking the creek. Just sit back and soak up that fresh mountain
air. It's a great place to enjoy your morning coffee while spotting
some of the local wildlife.
There are two bedrooms 12x16 each with
a queen size bed and their own
themes. Both bedrooms have an exit to the rear porch. The bathroom is
a roomy 8x12 with the full bath/shower, double vanity/sink and full size
washer and dryer.
Year round you can relax and enjoy the therapeutic
effects of a full size private hot tub on this spacious gazebo, overhanging
a beautiful creek just a few feet from the cabin.
